Match Report |
Hinckley Knight 3 - 2 Desford Dynamo After hard work and a good display despite going down 4-2 at the hands of Earl Shilton Utd last week we came into this match with optimism. After losing the home tie to Hinckley which lets face it was no club Tropicana we knew it was the final countdown and what we needed to do. From the off we let the football do the talking and only having one vision, whilst not getting involved in what is known as "gamesmanship" but what everyone else calls "winging and moaning" from the opposition. Through the barricades of the first half we showed good character but a couple of big mistakes at the back plus a well taken 3rd goal left us trailing at the break 3-0 which flattered Hinckley somewhat. The second half saw desford grow strong and with a little help from my friends and being hungry like a wolf, we put in great performances all round, the defence stayed firm and resilient despite the 3-0 deficit and a lot of hard work from the 5 man midfield lead by stand in Captain Paul Mervin with lone striker fisher chasing cars up front saw a change. The hard work paid off and saw us bring a goal back. Desford were back to life, Hinckley were rattled and the gamesmanship started getting worse and after knocking on heavens door we needed another chance which we had and bought it back to 3-2 which was a kind of magic we needed giving us the belief we can go on and win this game. This saw a nail biting finish as both teams looked like scoring when going forward but with Hinckley solid as a rock towards the end saw the game end in Hinckley's favour. 3-2 the final score. Remember lads the show must go on, it aint over till it's over. Dan (Donkey Kong) Anderson |
